Halloween is just a few months away.  We’ve still got glow-in-the-dark Fairy Frost and Jack-o-Lanterns, black owls, witches, and all kinds of frightfully cute fabrics.

Artful Bras for a Cause

You are wonderful.  Already, many of you are bringing in your “Artful Bras for the Cause.”  What fun, humor, and good-will you’re showing in these creative bras.  Here’s the deal:  We’re asking EACH of you to create a bra and exhibit it at Threads of Time.  Each bra has an entry fee of $5.00, and all the entry fees will go to Susan G. Komen Foundation.   The bras will be displayed during the entire month of October, and Viewer’s Choice awards will be a $100, $50, and $25 gift card from Threads of Time.   But it’s NOT about winning or being the best.   It’s about helping a cause that has touched all of us.   The bra can be a simple bra with a title, or it can be an elaborately decorated item.   It can be painted, sewn, knitted, appliquéd, molded, welded, sculpted…anything you can dream up using any kind of materials. No matter what, please be part of this campaign.  You have until the end of September to create and title your undergarment.  Our goal is to exhibit AT LEAST 200 bras so we can donate $1000.00 dollars for breast cancer research.

Our pattern of the week is Fine Dining.  With this pattern, you’ll get four great designs created by Debbie Maddie.  What’s really interesting and unique about these projects is that they are created using unique fabrics and ribbons, resulting in a different look every time.

Kid's Summer Sewing Camp

What a great week of Kid’s Summer Sewing Camp we had.   Sixteen children from the ages of 8 to 14 took part in learning the fundamentals of sewing while having all kinds of fun.   Many thanks to Barb Monson who taught the camp with great patience, skill, and humor.   The kids all completed and took home their “Flip Pillow” along with new knowledge and an excitement about sewing.
