For many of our classes, we simply indicate that you need to bring "basic sewing supplies." Included in this phrase are any items that you would use in general sewing:
Sewing machine
Scissors
Ruler, Rotary cutter, and mat
Needles, pins, pincushion
Marking pen or pencil
Owner's manual to your machine
Portable iron and/or ironing pad if you own them
Threads of Time stocks notions and tools for your sewing needs.
Supplies for Sharon Schamber's Binding Technique Class:
1. Small quilt, squared
2. Binding fabric cut in strips. Cut width of your choice. I prefer 2 1/4 inch.
3. Thread, preferably cotton.
4. Elmer's School Glue
5. Glue tips (available at shop)
6. Iron and ironing mat
7. Heavy starch, name brand
8. Needle for hand sewing, recommend applique` size 10
9. Sewing Machine
10. Scissors
Do not stitch binding strips together. Do not press fold into binding. Quilt should be small enough to finish binding in class. No larger than 36 inches. Preferably not smaller than 24 inches.
