Customer Testimonials

Steve and I have had the pleasure of visiting Threads of Time for lecture/trunk shows on two occasions. Both times we were overwhelmed with the warm welcome we received from Missy and Bill, their staff, and the attendees. All of the details were thoughtfully attended to, and the programs went without a hitch. A table full of treats and decorated with floral arrangements added a homey touch. I really enjoyed talking with the creative and well-informed attendees after the lectures.

I enjoyed taking advantage of the extended quilt shop hours to shop for fabric for some projects I had in mind. And when I needed to get away for a good night's sleep before heading home, it was especially handy to have our own private room with ensuite bathroom right on the premises. All in all, we enjoyed our visit immensely and hope we will be invited back soon!

Just want to say THANK YOU for arranging Judy and Steve to come to TOT. Her quilts are absolutely the grandest pieced quilts! She is so creative with log cabins! Each book gets better than the last one! I'm now positive I'll start one -- just collecting her books isn't enough! I'll be back at TOT in 2 weeks for a 3-4 day retreat. Anxious to see you again!

Been doing the shop hop and came across your site...looked at your completed project and just want to say I think every one of the quilts and such are just beautiful...very talented people and I enjoyed looking at them...

Dear Bill & Missi,

Thank you so much for the Threads of Time Sewing Cup & 2 fat quarters of material.  We really liked your wonderful store.  I've been in a lot of quilt stores everywhere.  You are the only ones who gave me a cup & material.  Everyone was so nice!  The next time I come to Illinois I hope to stop again.  We lived in Illinois for 11 years but came back to Ohio in 1966 because our children didn't know their grandparents very well.  My daughter showed her quilt top & you took a picture!  She was pleased.  Keep up the good work.  God be with you.

"I am late in getting this to you, but I do want to thank you for 'going the extra mile'---I was in your store a couple of months ago looking for a particular fabric, and found it---but it was hanging on a wall being used like a curtain to hold a quilt for display.  It was black and white checkered brushed cotton homespun.  I had looked all over Indianapolis, Fishers, Noblesville, Carmel, Rossville, IN, and Lafayette, IN as well as every online site I could find, with no luck.  I know your clerk called you when she had promised not to bother you to ask if she could sell me some of that fabric.  I just want you to know how much I appreciate all the trouble that caused you and your staff.  I needed to find it for a rag quilt with a Purdue University theme that had one pattern with a white background and Purdue insignias on it--no other white in the quilt, so it really needed some black and white to have more white in it.  It would not have looked good without that checkered fabric.  I have made two of the quilts and have given both away as presents, and I have enough of that fabric left to use in yet another one.  Thank you VERY much for your trouble and kindness in allowing me to purchase the fabric.  I have told several of my quilter friends how kind that was of you.

Hi Bill & Missi,

I just found your store 3 weeks ago and just went crazy!

I love the variety, the help and more

But like you now is the time to start Christmas sewing or so I've said for years.

Well guess what!  I have started!!

Two lap quilts done!

One doll in progress with more planned!

Don't know what got into me.....maybe your store.

I am a sewing teacher at East High School in Des Moines Iowa.  We have seven Family and Consumer Sciences teachers at East and two sewing teachers.  Two of my friends and I recently went to Paducha, Kentucky to the quilt museum and visited quilt stores along the way.  The highest rating we ever gave a shop was a 4 1/2 star rating.  Your store is a 5.  It is just beautiful and wonderful fabrics, fabrics that I had not seen in the 8 stores I had seen earlier in the week.  That includes Hancock's of Paducha!!

I hope to bring a group of teachers to your shop next summer.  It was wonderful!!!!

Threads of Time is a jewel of east central IL! The shop's diverse products along with the spacious shop makes this a truly one-of-a-kind place to visit. Put this on your 'to do' list. And while you are in Danville, grab lunch at Charlotte's!

Love, love, love this shop. Great selection and fun.

This is my favorite quilt shop and retreat center. If you've never been there take a day and drive over and check it out.

One of my favorite quilt stores. Staff is fantastic and the store hosts wonderful events. Huge variety of fabrics, notions, books, and kits. Fabulous retreat center, too!

First time there today. What a wonderful sanctuary from the hectic world. Whether retreating or just browsing, it's a found secret "garden" (at least for me).
